Ordnance Survey licences explained
Ordnance Survey mapping is protected under Crown copyright by virtue of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Copying of mapping can be authorised under separate copyright licences depending upon the intended use.
Plan, Design and Build Licence
This licence is aimed at project managers undertaking projects in the land and property market. The licence is project specific but includes terms and conditions for sharing data with other project participants.
Internal Business Use Licence
This licence targets businesses that wish to use mapping data as a tool to support their day-to-day administration and operations.
Paper Map Copying Licence
This licence enables unlimited copies of mapping to be made in paper or electronic form by a business .
